Admission Requirements:

  • Satisfactory progress report from previous school.
  • Good character reference.
  • Entrance test: ability to achieve within our curriculum.
  • Student and Parent interview.
  • Completed Student Application form with $50 Application Fee*.
  • Registration Fee.
  • Contact/Tuition Finance Completed.
  • Immunization record (with up-to-date shots).
  • Physical Examination (Form 14 required by the State of Hawaii).
  • Birth & (Baptism & Eucharist Certificates, if Catholic).
  • State age requirement are:
    Kindergarten: 5 years by December 31
    First Grade: 6 years by December 31

Returning Students:

In January of each year, parents must express an intention of enrollment for the following school year. The school reserves the right to accept or reject application from returning students. Such decisions are based on parental cooperation, student deportment, and available educational opportunities. Parents will be informed if their child will not be readmitted.

Every student who plans to return to our school in August is required to pay a registration fee to reserve a classroom seat. No student will be considered enrolled unless the registration fee and the previous year's tuition have been paid in full. This fee is non-refundable. (Refundable only for unexpected military transfer with a letter from employer verifying transfer).

Student Contract:

Parents shall complete a student contract form prior to a student's enrollment, admission, and assignment to a class. The student contract clearly states all fees are non-refundable upon enrollment. The contract lists the current tuition rate and payment options as follow:

Registration fees paid by March 1st or 10 days after acceptance.

One Payment Plan - Tuition, books, and fees are payable in a single installment, due on or before July 1st, with a $75.00 discount for each child enrolled at St. Michael School. No discount after July 1st.
Two Payment Plan - Tuition, books, and fees are payable in two installments: the first one-half all charges are due on or before July 1st, and the second installment is due on or before November 1st. The second payment will be deducted electronically from your savings or checking account through our  tuition payment program. There will be a fee for this service..
Twelve Payment Plan - Tuition, books, and fees are payable in twelve installments. The first payment of at least 1/12 of tuition, books, and fees are due on or before June 1st. Payments will be deducted electronically from your savings or checking account through our  tuition payment program. There will be a fee for this service. .

The school's  plan is an automatic cash transfer plan in which cash is automatically transferred to the school. This program removes the school from the role of bill collector and still allows us to minister to any special needs that may arise within a family. It also saves the school cost of postage and printing of statements, as well as the time required in bookkeeping and collection for over 230 separate tuition accounts. Parents also benefit by not having to write a check each month and mailing, or delivering it to the school and by being able to budget tuition over monthly option.

If tuition becomes delinquent, students will be released, and account will be sent to a collection agency.

Late fee - There will be a Monthly Late Fee of 5% of the payment due. A $15.00 fee for any returned checks.

Student Withdrawal:

Families desiring to withdraw a student shall provide written notification one(1) week prior to planned withdrawal. This time frame will allow teachers to formulate final grades and the administration personnel time to complete transfer documents, compile student records, and provide final billing in order to rectify outstanding accounts. Should any refund be due the family, parents are requested to provide and/or verify their mailing address in order for the school to provide remittance. Refunds will not be made on the day of student release.

Parents are provided with test scores and report cards, therefore, Saint Michael School is not responsible to prepare these information for future enrollment to another school on demand. However, if parents do request copies of child's legal documents, there will be a fee. Request form is available in the school's office.
