Library:  Visit Hawaii Libraries

All students (K-8) are scheduled to use our school library for leisure reading or to enhance the value of self-study and research. Upper grade students may also utilize the Waialua Public Library. Our school has the facility to dial in to the Hawaii State Library to borrow books. A Hawaii State Library card is required to borrow on-line. An application is available at the school library.

Community Service:

Community service encourages children to extend themselves (beyond their own family into the community) to help others, often less fortunate or less able. Community service is the sharing of time and talents with others without payment. It is meant to round the child by building self-esteem and satisfaction in giving of themselves.

Grades: Minimum requirement for the school year:

K-1st Grade 5 service hours
2nd - 3rd Grade 10 service hours
4th - 5th Grade 15 service hours
6th - 8th Grade 25 service hours

Each time community service is performed, the student must update his/her community service form filed with homeroom teacher. Service hours will be noted/marked on students report card at each quarter end. If service activity is ever in doubt, fill in the form and ask your homeroom teacher.
