Our Kindergarten through Grade 8 curriculum prepares students to thrive in high school and beyond. In addition to meeting the State of Hawaiʻi Content and Performance Standards as well as the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS), students are educated in a faith-based, Christ-centered environment that emphasizes the holistic development of each child. We believe students should be equipped not only to excel academically, but also to grow socially and spiritually.
St. Michael School upholds high standards of academic excellence and moral character for both students and faculty. Students are provided with meaningful opportunities to develop leadership, compassion, service, spiritual growth, presentation and performance skills, teamwork, and other essential life skills.
Students receive instruction in the following subject areas: English Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Religion (Christian Doctrine), Art, Music, Technology, and Physical Education. Each course is taught by experienced, dedicated teachers in small class settings, allowing for personalized instruction and meaningful teacher-student relationships.
Technology is used as an important tool to support learning, and students are assessed individually to ensure they master key concepts at an appropriate pace. Our educators provide additional support to students who need it, while also offering enrichment and challenge for students who are ready to move ahead.
The elementary and middle school experience is further enriched through a variety of extracurricular opportunities, including athletics and music programs. St. Michael School also brings families and the wider community together through special events such as the annual Christmas program and school gala. Rooted in our mission, students participate in outreach and service projects throughout the year, helping those in need both locally and globally.
