At St. Michael School students will be active Christians, who become life- long learners, effective communicators, problem solvers, self-evaluators, and responsible citizens.
Our Kindergarten through Grade 8 curriculum prepares students to thrive in high school and beyond. In addition to adhering to the State of Hawaii Content and Performance Standards, students are educated in a faith-based, Christ-centered environment which focuses on a holistic approach to the individual. We believe that each child must not only be given the tools to excel academically, but socially and spiritually as well.
St. Michael School expects the highest standards both academically and morally from students and faculty. Students are also given opportunities to grow in other important skills such leadership, charity and outreach, spiritual development, presentation and performance, teamwork, and much more.
Students are instructed in the following courses: English Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Religion (Christian Doctrine), Art, Music, Technology, and Physical Education. Each course is taught by high-quality experienced teachers in a small class-sized environment to provide more one-on-one opportunities.
Using technology as an important tool for learning, students are assessed individually to ensure each student is able to master necessary concepts at his/her own pace and not simply moved along through grades like cattle. Our team of educators is able to provide additional support to those who may need more assistance while, at the same time, challenging our more accelerated learners.
Finally, the grade school experience is enhanced through various extra-curricular opportunities such as our athletics and music programs. Our school is also known to help bring the community together at our various events such as the annual Christmas program and school Gala. With mission as one of our major focus areas, students participate in different outreach programs throughout the year that benefits the disadvantaged in our community and around the world.
