Mahalo… To all the families who joined us in celebrating St. Francis of Assisi with the Blessing of the Animals. It was a fun-filled morning! Students brought to school a mixture of live pets and an assortment of pictures and stuffed animals to be blessed by Father Lusius. We appreciate your continued support for the students and our school! Congratulations… St. Michael School participated in this year’s fire prevention mural painting project. Congratulations to Taylor DeLima, whose artwork was chosen among area schools to be displayed in front of the Waialua Fire Station starting today! Feel free to stop by and take a picture of the mural. This year’s theme is “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep. Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm”. Fire Prevention Week runs from October 4 through October 10. Few Reminders… In support of World Day of Bullying Prevention, students may wear a blue shirt to school on Monday, October 5, 2015. Preschool Conferences: October 7 & October 8 (No school for preschoolers only). Fall Break: No School on October 9 & October 12. If you have any questions, please call the school office. Enjoy your weekend! SMS Office Aloha e St. Michael ‘Ohana,
Our students did a great job today! It was nice to see smiling faces from all of our grandparents. All students may come to school in free dress tomorrow (9/30). Please adhere to the free dress guidelines as stated in your Parent/Student Handbook. The Fall Fundraiser for this school year has two options: (1) Donate $125 as your family share upon check out at Foodland or Sack-n-Save grocery stores through the Give Aloha Program. St. Michael School’s registration code is #77566. The program ends tomorrow (9/30). Food for thought: If you would like to donate a total of $250 to this program, this will take care of your family share for the year (Fall = $125; Spring = $125). (2) Remit your family share of $150 to the school office by October 16th. Just a quick reminder that Blessing of the Animals is on Friday, October 2nd at 8:15am, in honor of Saint Francis of Assissi. You may bring your pet, a stuffed animal or a picture to be blessed. Parents MUST accompany all live pets. Pets must be caged or leashed and must be brought home after the ceremony. Mahalo! Everyone is invited to celebrate St. Michael and Grandparents Day tomorrow starting with Mass at 9:00am in St. Michael Church. Our grandparents will be called up to be blessed individually by Father Benny. After Mass, PTO will be having a bake sale while the students return to their classroom to get ready for the program. The program will be held on the front lawn, followed by lunch. If you ordered additional lunches, tickets will be distributed to you tomorrow. We look forward to seeing all of you at this first performance of the school year! It is a full day of school but if you would like to take your children out early, please let their homeroom teacher know. Mahalo!
